Denver Broncos safety Brian Dawkins (you might remember him from Philadelphia!) and coach Josh McDaniels talked Wednesday about the fast start of outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil.

Dumervil (5-11, 248) ranks second in the NFL with six sacks this season. That's one more sack than he had all of last season and twice as many as the entire Cowboys team has this season through the first three games.

Cowboys tackle Flozell Adams will certainly have his hands full with Elvis.

"He's blessed to do what he does. He has the God-given ability to be able to get off the ball," Dawkins said. "He's already low to the ground. He has long arms to get guys off of him and then he has a motor. He has an unbelievable motor that he feels he cannot be blocked if he is one-on-one with a guy. All that being said, that's all wrapped into a humble guy. When you have all those things wrapped together, you have the potential for a guy to be doing what he's doing right now."

And McDaniels on Elvis Dumervil:

"Elvis has always put up good statistical numbers as far as his production. I think he had 26 sacks in the first three years and has obviously done a nice job of getting to the quarterback this year," McDaniels said. "He works hard at it. He works extremely hard. He has a little bit of a unique skill set. He's a shorter pass rusher who does have longer arms than most shorter players and he's really bought into what we're doing with him in our system and he's really had some success here early in the season. He can get better. He knows that. He's working hard every day to try to do that. We're pleased with the production he's given us so far."
